Visiting a foodbank

voluteer chatting to client over tea and biscuits“The volunteers at the foodbank were so lovely, they listened to me and made me feel human again. It was the first place I didn’t feel judged.”

We know that crisis can strike anyone and yet it can be difficult to think about walking through a food bank door.

Our volunteers love to welcome everyone who comes to the food bank with compassion, kindness and a listening ear.

What to expect when you arrive

All you’ll need to do when you arrive is tell us your name as we should have all the other details already.

Your Referral Agency will have sent us an e-voucher and should have asked you about any dietary requirements, how many people are in your household and so on.

This means we’re able to have your food parcel prepared in advance.

Guidance and support

When you arrive, a volunteer will offer you refreshments and will ask if you need any household items that we may have available as well.

We also want to take the time to listen and support you.

Our volunteers love to chat and have access to information on lots of other local services.

We want to see you get access to the right support, helping you to move towards a brighter future.
